EXIF Metadata
The exif-mcp server enables LLMs to extract and analyze image metadata offline using the exifr library. Built by Stanislav Sedov, this TypeScript implementation provides tools for reading various metadata segments (EXIF, GPS, XMP, ICC, IPTC, JFIF, IHDR) from common image formats like JPEG, PNG, TIFF, and HEIC. The server supports multiple image source types including file paths, URLs, base64 data, and buffers, while offering specialized tools for extracting orientation information, rotation details, GPS coordinates, and embedded thumbnails. This implementation is particularly valuable for analyzing image libraries, visualizing metadata patterns, and debugging image manipulation code without relying on external tools or network connections.
