Appeal a withheld listing
SkillsRegistry runs automated analysis over the skills it has scanned; coverage is stated on each listing. When a scan produces a finding we cannot yet stand behind in public, we withhold the listing: the skill stays reachable by its direct link, but it is not shown in search or browse results and its page shows the scan details instead of a verdict.
What a withheld listing is, and is not
- It is a fact about our listing. It is not a statement about the skill's author or their intent.
- An automated finding is attributed to a rule (for example a CWE id) run by a named engine on a stated date. Where a rule is shown, that is the whole claim.
- Some detector classes are marked pending review and carry no rule attribution at all. That means we are re-measuring the detector's precision, not that we have concluded anything about the skill.
- Trust and quality scores are still shown. They are computed signals, and the scan date on the page tells you which analysis produced them.
How to appeal

Find the scan details on the skill page
Every scanned skill page shows the engine, the scan date and, where one is attributed, the rule id. Quote them — they let us reproduce the exact scan.

Email us with the facts
Send to hello@cognium.net with the subject prefix "SkillsRegistry appeal:" followed by the skill slug. Include the skill slug, the repository URL, the version if it matters, and what you believe is wrong — for example, the file the finding points at, or that the behaviour is documented and opt-in.

We acknowledge within 2 business days
A named person replies, not a queue. If we need something else from you we say exactly what.

You get a decision within 10 business days
Either the listing is restored and the page updated, or we explain precisely which rule and which evidence still applies — and you can reply to that.

If a listing is restored we update the page and the search index on the same day. If we keep it withheld we tell you the rule and the evidence, and you can reply to that. Maintainers of the source repository and the host registry are told before a withheld listing is described anywhere outside its own page.
