Semantic Scholar MCP server provides direct access to Semantic Scholar's database of 200+ million academic papers within Claude Desktop. Built with Python using httpx for API calls and Pydantic for data validation, it offers tools for searching papers with filters (year, field of study, citation count), retrieving detailed paper information including citations, and searching for authors. The implementation supports both markdown and JSON response formats, making it valuable for literature reviews, research discovery, citation analysis, and academic writing workflows.
