ScholarScope (OpenAlex)
ScholarScope MCP server provides AI assistants with access to academic research through the OpenAlex API, enabling comprehensive paper search, author discovery, and citation analysis. Built with Python using FastMCP and featuring robust retry mechanisms with exponential backoff, it offers tools for searching papers by title/abstract/keywords with institutional filtering, finding authors and their affiliations, retrieving citation networks and referenced works, and fetching full-text content via Jina AI's reader service with SSRF protection. The implementation includes structured Pydantic schemas for consistent data handling and supports pagination for large result sets, making it ideal for literature reviews, academic research assistance, and scholarly data analysis workflows.
Composite of vulnerability cleanliness, spec conformance, provenance, stability, and usage signals — scanned and weighted by Cognium. Human and agent signals are tracked separately. Last scanned 2026-09-19.
