Obsidian Vault
An MCP server for interacting with Obsidian vaults that bridges knowledge management systems through both direct filesystem access and the Local REST API plugin. Created by phate45, it provides tools for moving/renaming files while preserving backlinks, extracting markdown heading structures for quick file navigation, and generating unambiguous heading references with full parent chains. The implementation requires a custom fork of the Local REST API plugin for move functionality and is designed to complement mcp-obsidian by filling gaps in file management capabilities, making it useful for knowledge base organization and content restructuring workflows.
