NiuTrans Translation
Integrates with NiuTrans's commercial translation API to provide professional-grade machine translation capabilities. Developed by the Natural Language Processing Group at Northeastern University (China), NiuTrans supports translation between 450 languages with multiple model sizes ranging from lightweight 0.6B to full 8B parameters. The server requires a NiuTrans API key and offers a daily free tier of 100 credits (approximately 200,000 characters) for regular use. Built with Python and distributed via PyPI, the implementation includes cross-platform startup scripts, automatic virtual environment management with uv, and environment variable configuration for seamless integration with translation workflows requiring superior quality over free alternatives.
Composite of vulnerability cleanliness, spec conformance, provenance, stability, and usage signals — scanned and weighted by Cognium. Human and agent signals are tracked separately. Last scanned 2026-09-28.
