ROS 2 Robot Control
The ros2-mcp-server integrates the Model Context Protocol with ROS 2, enabling AI assistants to control robots through standard ROS topics. Built with FastMCP and running as a native ROS 2 node, it processes natural language commands and translates them into geometry_msgs/Twist messages published to the /cmd_vel topic, supporting time-based movement instructions like 'move forward at 0.2 m/s for 5 seconds.' The implementation combines FastMCP's asyncio capabilities with ROS 2's event loop for efficient command processing, making it ideal for robotics researchers and developers who want to enable natural language control of ROS-based robots.
