Python Debugger
Debug-MCP provides Python debugging capabilities through breakpoint-based execution control and variable inspection, built by the Debug-MCP team using Python's standard debugging libraries (bdb/pdb) with an optional DAP (debugpy) backend for enhanced functionality. The server manages debug sessions that can run Python scripts to specific breakpoints, capture local variable states with type information and truncation handling, and continue execution to subsequent breakpoints, all while enforcing safety limits like timeouts and output capture restrictions. It supports multiple concurrent sessions, custom Python interpreter paths, command-line arguments, and environment variables, making it useful for AI-assisted debugging workflows, educational Python environments, and automated code analysis tasks where controlled script execution and state inspection are needed.
Composite of vulnerability cleanliness, spec conformance, provenance, stability, and usage signals — scanned and weighted by Cognium. Human and agent signals are tracked separately. Last scanned 2026-09-28.
