Google News & Trends
Google News Trends MCP server that provides access to Google News RSS feeds and Google Trends data through a Python implementation using the gnews and trendspy libraries. The server offers tools to search for news articles by keyword, location, or topic, retrieve top news stories, and fetch trending search terms by geographic region, with optional article summarization using either LLM sampling or NLP processing via newspaper4k. Built with FastMCP and featuring robust web scraping capabilities including Playwright fallback for difficult-to-scrape sites, it's designed for news monitoring, trend analysis, and content research workflows where users need structured access to current news data and search trends.
Composite of vulnerability cleanliness, spec conformance, provenance, stability, and usage signals — scanned and weighted by Cognium. Human and agent signals are tracked separately. Last scanned 2026-09-02.
