JDBC Database
Provides database connectivity through JDBC drivers, enabling AI assistants to query and explore relational databases with three core tools: table discovery, column metadata retrieval, and SQL query execution. Built by CData Software using Java and the Model Context Protocol SDK, the implementation supports any JDBC-compliant database by loading external driver JARs and automatically discovers database capabilities like identifier quoting rules and catalog/schema support. Features CSV-formatted output for all operations, dynamic table metadata resources for each configured table, and intelligent SQL dialect detection with proper identifier quoting, making it valuable for data analysis workflows requiring database access, business intelligence applications that need to query enterprise databases, and AI agents that must interact with existing relational data sources across different database platforms.
