VS Code Button Generator
VS Code install button generator MCP server that creates markdown badges for installing MCP servers and GitHub Copilot extensions directly in VS Code. Built by burkeholland, the implementation provides tools for generating install buttons for NPX-based MCP servers with support for inputs and environment variables, as well as Copilot-style install buttons for chat instructions, prompts, and chat modes from raw URLs or GitHub repositories. Features both MCP server mode and CLI mode for direct command-line usage, making it valuable for MCP server authors who want to provide one-click installation experiences in their documentation and README files without manually crafting VS Code redirect URLs.
Composite of vulnerability cleanliness, spec conformance, provenance, stability, and usage signals — scanned and weighted by Cognium. Human and agent signals are tracked separately. Last scanned 2026-09-28.
